Despite alarm bells being rung last week with the discovery by a landscaper of a mummified child near the Trinity Church graveyard, this is not the first time this has happened at the church, a source tells the Bermuda Sun.

In fact, according to our source, last month a handful of bodies was mistakenly moved by workers who are carrying out maintenance at the Hamilton Parish site.

But our source, who is close to the investigation into the matter, was unable to say whether the families of the deceased were notified or aware of the occurrence.

Maintenance

In a press release issued after last week’s discovery, Assistant Commissioner Antoine Daniels said: “In recent weeks there has been extensive maintenance being carried out at this particular gravesite resulting in a number of tombs being refurbished.”

Our source would not confirm or deny whether the family of the child, who was reportedly wearing a hospital bracelet, had been found yet. n
