MJM earns praise in Chambers Global Rankings

Law firm MJM Limited has been highly ranked by Chambers & Partners in the Chambers Global Rankings 2014 for Bermuda.

Chambers praised MJM’s Dispute Resolution team as “Highly rated by clients for its personal and practical approach. A preferred firm for referral work, with extensive experience before all levels of court, including the High Court and the Privy Council. 

Chambers also wrote: “Continues to grow its litigation practice with the addition of new personnel.” 

Litigation attorneys Alan Dunch and Andrew Martin received top tier rankings. 

Mr Dunch, who leads MJM’s litigation practice, was described by clients as someone who ‘is often turned to for his “experience and brilliant mind”. 

He also earned widespread praise for his ability to “take a practical business and real approach’.” 

Andrew Martin was noted for having ‘established a reputation as one of the top litigators in Bermuda, with tremendous experience in various courts. Sources said: “He’s tough and tenacious, and a good man to have on your side in a fight’.’

Furthermore, the publication quoted clients, highlighting: “They provide excellent service and are very personal — they are speedy and efficient.” 

MJM’s Corporate and Finance team was noted especially for commercial awareness and responsiveness. 

Clients said: “They have very good understanding of the concept of a business decision — they are very commercial,” and “They are very responsive — it is very important for local counsel to be responsive, flexible and understand transaction deadlines.”

Peter Martin, who leads the Corporate and Finance team was ranked in Band 1 and Chambers described him as earning plaudits for his “very deep knowledge of company law and familiarity with processes in the USA — he is extremely intelligent and commercial”.
