Nahki Wells had a second-half goal disallowed as Huddersfield Town slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Blackpool in the Championship this afternoon.

A lacklustre Terriers struggled to get going in the first half, conceding after only four minutes through Jamaican striker Ricardo Fuller. The former Stoke striker outpaced Anthony Gerrard before firing home at Bloomfield Road.

Wells was booked on the stroke of half-time as Mark Robins’ side failed to lift the intensity of their performance.

And that continued in the second half, although the Bermudian did let fly from 30 yards to rouse the away following. The club’s record signing then thought he had equalized after tapping home a rebound from Adam Clayton’s drive, only for the linesman to flag for offside.

Huddersfield manager Mark Robins said: "The first half was as poor as we've been. The second half was okay but some way off what we're capable of."

He added: "It was very easy for them to score the early winner and that let them get people behind the ball on a small pitch."

It was a deeply disappointing result for Town against a Blackpool side that had won just once in 20 games before kick-off. Huddersfield drop to 16th in the table having lost three of their past four in the league.
