It’s that time again when the Baltimore Stadium is closed and the Blast’s season comes to an end.
Fans prepare for next year and the players start their summer work with their respective outdoor teams.
It would have been great to start this column off saying we are champions again — but that is not to happen.
We made it to the play off finals but lost the third game. It was heartbreaking but I must say I’m not too frustrated because the players gave all they had and represented each other well.
This season started slow but picked up after a few games once the players brought into our system and plans.
We had some highs and lows through the season, which allowed us to build great character.
In all we are very proud of the players’ performance this season and with coming away without the league title is not that bad.
As we move forward toward our 2014-2015 season, we plan to scout many players and search for new talent.
With the outdoor season starting this will give us a good pool to select from.
Scouting players is not easy and you have to take chances on some players, hoping they work out and are able to make the
transition to the indoor game.
As for me I will be traveling plenty with my new company and focusing on community development projects in Bermuda and Baltimore.
I will be preparing for the HSBC pro soccer clinic and looking forward to the World Cup this summer.
My time and focus for the next two months will be spent rebranding the clinic, my personal brand and the company.
I am looking to bring some new ventures to the young people of Bermuda and am hoping to continue to help them build their career for success.
Finally, I want to say thank you to all in Bermuda for your support this season and look forward to your continued support throughout my summer ventures on the island.
This year has been awesome and if there is one message I want to leave you with, it’s this: “When you walk towards the direction of your success, walk with pride, walk with dignity and always walk in shoes that fit you.”
Until next time. n
