The five-year deal signed between North Village Community Club and Glasgow Rangers Football Club has resulted in extending opportunities not only to the club’s players but to all the children of Bermuda who are interested in receiving football training from professional international coaches.
During the week of April 7th North Village will be hosting its inaugural week-long Glasgow Rangers Soccer School Camp right here in Bermuda. Rangers Football Club will fly in a group of hand-picked professional coaches who are all qualified to the highest standards. The coaches are guaranteed to have experience in developing professional youth players.
“One of the goals established from the North Village/Rangers partnership was to provide affordable local professional development to ALL the children of Bermuda who love football, boys and girls alike” said Stephen Coddington, North Village Community Club President. “We recognize that overseas trips are very costly and not everyone can afford them. This is a great opportunity for children to receive international professional coaching right here at home. Extending the opportunity to children from other clubs so that all Bermuda footballers can reap the benefits just made sense. At the end of the day, we’re interested in the overall professional development of Bermuda’s youth.”
“North Village will retain no profit from this camp. Our goal was not to make money but rather to make this unique opportunity affordable to as many people as possible.”
The significance of the opportunity given to the children of Bermuda was acknowledged by Eurocar Ltd., official sponsor of the inaugural Rangers Soccer School camp. “When we learned of the caliber of professional coaching North Village was bringing to Bermuda we wanted to support their efforts,” said Richard Davidge, Eurocar Ltd. President. “Organized sports provide children with a constructive outlet and we applaud North Village for all the good work that they continue to do with their youth program. The fact that they have extended the offering to athletes outside of their club demonstrated a commitment to our youth that Eurocar Ltd. is proud to support.”
Rangers Football Cub play in the Scottish Professional Football League and are one of the most successful professional clubs in the world, having won the Scottish domestic title on 54 occasions and with total trophies won of over 100, both of which are still world records. “We look forward to the camp being a great success” concluded Stephen Coddington, North Village Community Club President.
The cost for the week-long camp is $155, with no additional charge for after-camp care. Registration deadline is March 21, 2014. Visit www.northvillage.bm or email [email protected] for more information.
