Lloyd Fray, President of the BCB, said: “I am pleased to confirm that the BCB has contracted Arnold Manders as National Coach for a 12 month period to May 31st, 2015. This will allow Arnold to continue his good work with the squad to date and provide for a year-round program and preparation for the national senior team.
Bermuda will be competing in 2 world ICC qualifying events in the next 10 months and we plan to optimise our performances on the field in a very competitive environment.”
Arnold Manders, National Coach said: “I believe that we have a very talented and balanced squad with many options provided by the all-rounders. I am disappointed that some players are not available but I fully understand and respect their decisions. I will continue to keep an open door policy for players that put in good performances over the coming months in domestic cricket either here or in the UK (including players such as Greg Maybury, Joshua Gilbert and Okera Bascome).
“I am very happy with the overseas monitoring and preparation program that we have for the many UK based players we have in our squad which features a good crop of young talent. I expect all players to be totally committed to the program as we are at a very competitive level and we will need to be at our best to reach the lofty goals that we have set for ourselves.”
