Local live music, a smoking grill, fruity cocktails and fun on the water — it’s all part of the island flavour being offered by the new Tobacco Bay bar this summer.
As well as a host of concessions including flyboarding, paddle boarding, jet-skiing and snorkelling, Bermudian operators The Beach Boys will be putting on a weekly selection of live entertainment from bongos, acoustic guitar, steel pan, sax and occasional DJs for special events.
Belcario Thomas, Beach Boys’ General Manager, told the Bermuda Sun: “In Barcelona, Brazil and Ibiza hundreds of thousands gravitate to similar breath- taking experiences, so in time and as demand grows on weekends, we’d love to lead a beach sunset movement! If enough residents tell us they’d enjoy a little bonfire, beach bar BBQ with some chill tunes...we’ll pick a weekend evening and run with it.”
Starting this weekend, the bar will introduce its SINsational Sundays — an all day ladies’ special of five complimentary loungers with any bottle of champagne and 10 per cent off all the toys and activities. Having now completed its training and soft opening phase, this holiday weekend they’ll be fully staffed, fully operational with the beach bar, cafe, rentals, toys, tours, live entertainment and extra transport all lined up on Monday.
As for transport home, the Tobacco Bay team are calling on a growing list of reliable taxis and shuttle buses for any of its guests. There’s also a new run shuttle, a regular Grotto Bay to St Georges shuttle, a St George’s train and
increased daily ferry
service.
Thomas is joined by Beach Boy directors Dennie O’Connor and Raymond Walker.
Thomas added: “Beach Boys” is excited to be a part of helping to revitalize St Georges and enhance one of the island’s most popular attractions.
“We hope all 61,000 residents get a chance to come down this summer to enjoy a true Bermuda treasure and support the UNESCO World Heritage Site of culture, beaches and beauty bursting in St George Towne.”
