Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda presents its second “How much would you pay to see me…?” fundraiser.  Local celebrities have volunteered to raise funds for the charity by doing crazy “Dares” LIVE on stage at Harbour Nights on Wednesday, June 25th.  Each participant is aiming to raise at least $1,500 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda through encouraging members of the community to make a pledge to see them do their dares.

In 2012 we witnessed: Opposition Member of Parliament Zane DeSilva getting a pie thrown at his face then having his hair sprayed green by children from the audience. Government MP Jeff Sousa fighting Bermuda’s female boxing Champion Teresa Perozzi and getting a bloody nose. AND… E. Michael Jones eating a feast of crickets, worms, larvae and pig’s ears, served on fine china with mayonnaise! This year the sky is the limit!

Some of the dares for 2014 are: Spending a few minutes in a case of cockroaches, jumping overboard in a gown, kissing a pig, dressing in drag, acting like a dog and being wrapped in toilet paper!  There are 15 DARES in total!

The contestants are:

Senator Jeff Baron, Wayne Furbert JP, MP, Ed Christopher – Town Crier, Principal Charles Joynes – Northlands Primary, DJ Bitsy – Hott 107.5, Kristin White, Andrew Griffith, Chris Famous, Don Burgess – Bermuda Sun, Dwayne Caines, Miss Bermuda –

Katie Arnfield, DJ Chubb & Sherri Berri – Vibe 103, Fancy – Power 95, Brother Richie – Hott 107.5 and Gavin “Djata” Smith – Chewstick.

Patrina O’Connor-Paynter the Fund Development Director for BBBS says “Like most charities in Bermuda we are also facing hard economic times.  We realize that in order for us to continue servicing the youth of Bermuda we must come up with new and innovative ways to raise funds.  The event was a success in 2012 therefore we have decided to do it again this year.  Our contestants are amazing and we are looking forward to a great show.  We would like to thank the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce for their support of this event.”

People interested in making a donation towards one of one of the contestants can go to www.bermudatix.bm and click on the “How Much Would You Pay To See Me…?” link.
