From July 7th to 18th, three teams of four Bermudian university students will be learning in depth about the insurance business in Atlanta, Chicago or London. This Wednesday they all met in the BFIS office for a briefing by Michael Fisher, BFIS Chairman and four of last year’s interns - Chris Wright, Tucker Moore, Campbell Tucker and Somer Zuiker - talked to this year’s interns about what to expect, how to make the most of this opportunity and what they gained from taking part last year.
Mr. Fisher said, “We are delighted to be sending another 12 undergraduate students overseas this summer to learn all they can about the insurance business and gain that valuable overseas experience. Almost 100 students have now taken part in these short, intensive programmes since they started in 2001.
He went on to say that none of this would be possible without the tremendous support of the industry both in Bermuda and overseas whose members generously donate time to share their knowledge, insights and experience with the students.
A presentation by all 3 overseas groups will take place at lunchtime on July 28 and anyone interested in attending can contact the BFIS office at [email protected].
