Celeb watch: Jay and Bey are set to grace the Grammys

Are Jay-Z and Beyonce scheduled to open up the Grammys this weekend?

Word is that the power couple are scheduled to perform in the first hour of the show, possibly as the opening act.

According to US Weekly, CBS quietly confirmed the performance on Sunday and listed the couple on the list of performers. What hasn’t been confirmed is if they will perform together and at what part of the show.

Their latest collaboration, Drunk In Love is a huge hit off Queen Bey’s surprise album that was launched last month. Maybe they will perform that along with a medley of their hits.

This announcement has certainly made the Grammys a bit more interesting. I always watch but will tune in more eagerly if Bey and Jay perform together.

Also included on the list of performers are Taylor Swift, Lorde, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Daft Punk, Paul McCartney, Katy Perry and Kendrick Lamar.

The show airs on Sunday night on CBS. 

People Magazine has confirmed that Johnny Depp is engaged to girlfriend Amber Heard. Depp, 50 and Heard, 27 met on the set of Rum Diary back in 2011 and the rumour mill suggests he left long time love and mother of his children, Vanessa Paradis for her.

Depp and Paradis were together for 14 years and have two children together.

So now all of sudden, Johnny Depp is ready for marriage? Or is it a mid-life crisis? To be fair to Depp, Paradis reportedly never wanted to get married but for him to leave her for a girl young enough to be his daughter is absolutely ridiculous.

A source close to Depp told the magazine: “She’s a great match for him and his individuality. She’s a free spirit.”

Surely Heard knew that getting with an A-lister like Depp would help to advance her career. Except that’s the oldest trick in the book and everyone knows what she’s up to.

So will they actually get married? Depp has been engaged a few times and Heard was in a relationship with a woman before him so who knows.

Hopefully there is an ironclad pre-nup in the works!
