A mother-of-two today admitted chasing a love rival with a knife and threatening to kill her.

Leslie Dill, of Sandy’s went to Kendra’s Rogers’ job, Bermuda Imports and Exports, on January 16 at 12pm and started talking to her.

Dill, 25 said: “I’m going to kill you. You look like Yellow Man. I’m going to stab you in the eyes.”

Ms Rogers tried to ignore Dill and walked away. But when she got to the stairs, she noticed the defendant had a knife.

The court heard Rogers then ran towards the refrigerated area to get away from Dill, but she chased her, swinging the six-inch knife.

Ms Rogers then yelled: “She has a knife” and one of her co-workers grabbed Dill in a bear hug to stop her.

Another co-worker stepped on the knife and broke it. Police arrived shortly and seized the knife.

Ms Rogers attended the Hamilton Police Station and gave an interview to police. Dill turned herself into the police on Sunday.

In an interview, she told police she went to the location with the knife to cause harm to Ms Rogers.

The court heard the pair have history, as Dill’s ex-boyfriend and her child’s father is Ms Rogers’ boyfriend.

Susan Moore-Williams, acting as duty counsel mitigated on behalf of Dill and said: “She recognises that her actions were illegal and no matter how difficult the relationship is that exists between her ex-boyfriend and her, they must still maintain some civility because she and the gentlemen in question have children together.”

Dill told the court she lives in Sandys with her mother and her two children. Explaining the situation, she said: “She’s been calling my phone, texting my phone.

“It just stayed in my head and I just snapped because I couldn’t ignore her behaviour anymore.”

Asked why she is unemployed, Dill said: “I don’t know. I’m in school nights.”

Dwayne Caines, police spokesman then addressed the court and said he teaches Dill at GED classes at the Hamilton Seventh Day Adventist Church.

“I have taught her for the last two years and I can honestly say this is no reflection of her character. What she’s charged with is not reflection on her character.”

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned the matter to March 11 for sentencing and ordered a socialinquiry report.

Dill was granted $2,000 bail with one surety and must stay away from Ms Rogers.
