Bradford City have received a new bid for Nahki Wells and two Premier League clubs are also interested, according to joint chairman Mark Lawn.
The striker, who has 15 goals in 21 appearances this season, appears almost certain to leave the League One club in the transfer window, with Lawn revealing two Championship clubs have also been in contact.
Hull, Sunderland, Leeds United, QPR, Wolves and Wigan have all been linked with the £2m-plus rated player as have Celtic, although the club have had no dialogue as yet with the Scottish champions.
“There’s been a couple of Premier League sides show interest, a couple of Championship sides and a couple of others as well,” Lawn told Sky Sports News Radio.
“Our still preferred option would be to give Nahki a new contract and for him to stay with us but there’s only 18 months on it so we need to start looking at what’s best for the football club and Nahki wants to play at the highest kevel as soon as possible I think.”
He added: “ People are interested and you can’t stand in front of a player's career to be fair if he’s going to play at a different level so we’ll just wait and see.”
Lawn conceded there is a figure the club are willing to accept but also said the 23-year-old will have the ultimate say in where he goes.
And in a clear indication he is resigned to losing the former Dandy Town man, he said: “I do actually [think he could play in the Premier League].
“I certainly think he’ll be a bargain for someone to pick up. I’m not just saying that because he’s ours but… his finishing, his pace and he’s a very cool customer as well and I don’t think he’d worry.
“To be quite honest you see some people and you see the benches in the Premier League and I’m sure he could be an impact player from there.”
He added: “We’ve had nothing firm from a Premier League side but we have had a firm bid from one club.”
