League leaders PHC beat Footy Force Stars 5-4 in the latest round of matches in the Women’s Futsal League at the Warwick Academy Gym.
Jessica Furtado (3), Kalay Hollis and Raeesah Shakir were all on target for PHC, while K'Shaela Burch-Waldron (2), Cheyra Bell and Danielle Foot hit back for Footy Force.
The leaders were severly tested by a focused Footy team.
The teams were evenly matched and the score was tied up at 2-2 at half-time.
The second-half saw PHC maintain their composure to emerge winners.
Furtado was outstanding for PHC and Cheyra Bell was MVP for Footy. With this win, PHC have a commanding lead in the league with a six-point advantage over second place SCC.
SCC hammered 11 past YMSC thanks to strikes from Shauntae Todd (4), Eva Frazzonia (3), Dahzjah Greaves (3) and Sierra Fisher.
Deborah Menezes replied for YMSC but SCC dominated the game from start to finish and led 4-0 at half-time.
Todd was outstanding for SCC, while Zekiah Lewis was named MVP for YMSC.
In a much closer game, Dandy Stars egded HPWC 5-4.
On the scoresheet for the Stars were Cleshaunay Darrell-Virgil (2), D. Allen (2) and Nia Christopher.
The scorers for HPWC were Jayda Hill-Steede and Karen Dechabert, with two each.
HPWC stunned the Stars in the first-half and jumped out toan early 3-0 lead.
But Stars got going and got it back to 3-2 at half-time.
The game remained close throughout the second-half, but Dandy Stars managed to squeeze out the win.
Cleshaunay Darrell-Virgil was MVP for Dandy Stars and Karen Dechabert was outstanding for HPWC.
Games start at 5pm on Saturday at the Warwick Academy Gym.
