Large brush fire near Trinity Church Road
On Wednesday February 19, 2014 at approximately 6:05 pm the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a brush fire near Trinity Church Road, Hamilton Parish.
Fire Service spokesperson Lieutenant Leonard Davis reported that “The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to the mentioned incident with three fire appliances staffed with ten firefighters.
Upon their arrival they discovered a large area of brush approximately 100’ x 150’ fully involved in fire. The duty crew proceeded to extinguish the fire using three 1½ hose lines while dressed in self-contained breathing apparatus.”
Sergeant Caleb Zuill stated that “the fire took approximately one hour to bring under due to the size of the area which was involved.
Once the fire was brought under control all of the hot-spots where extinguished to prevent the brush from reigniting.”
The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
