Two Bermuda sailors competed in the 2014 Palamos Optimist Trophy in Spain.
Both Mikey Wollmann (Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club) and Campbell Patton (Royal Bermuda Yacht Club) had excellent regattas competing against 377 competitors, which included some of the best European sailors.
Wollmann finished in 13th place overall, with his best finish being fifth in the fourth race of the seven-race series. Wollmann was very consistent and never finished a race below 26th place for his 131 net points.
Patton struggled on the last day but still finished in a respectable 55th place. Patton started the Regatta recording back-to-back 11th-place finishes and had two top 10s on the second day. However, a 90 and 85 on the last day dropped him down the leaderboard. Patton finished with 241 net points.
