The Governor has distanced himself from the allegations that have surfaced during the war of words between the rival parties. The Bermuda Police Service, meanwhile, would not be drawn on the matter.
Yesterday, Governor George Fergusson made it clear that political matters are for Bermuda’s MPs to resolve.
He added: “I don’t see a role for the Governor in respect of these allegations.
“Any criminal matters should, as ever, be reported to the police.
“Political matters are for Bermuda’s elected politicians to resolve.”
The Sun contacted the Bermuda Police Service to see if a criminal complaint had been filed in respect of the allegations made by Opposition Leader Marc Bean and PLP MP David Burt.
But the BPS would not be drawn on the matter.
