In the upset of the season so far, Footy Force Stars came from behind to win convincingly 4-2 against SCC in the latest round of matches in the Women’s Futsal League at Warwick Academy Gym.

SCC were sharper at the start of the game and led 2-1 at half-time thanks to some superb shooting from Shauntae Todd.

But in the second period, coach Aaron Denkins re-organized his players with Cheyra Bell shutting down Todd.

Footy found the net three times after the break to win the match and climb to second in the league.

Charmaine Saltus in goal for SCC was outstanding, making a number of fine saves, while Bell was excellent for Footy.

Elsewhere, Dandy Stars hammered seven past YMSC.

Goals from Cleshaunay Darrell-Virgil (2), Kashintae Fox (2), Kyla Ramatar, Nia Christopher and Dazarre Place were too much for YMSC, who replied through Zekiah Lewis.

The result belied a tough start for Stars, who found it tough going. YMSC surprised their higher-ranked opponents, frustrating their attack and standing firm thanks to some fine goalkeeping.

Stars, though, settled down and started to put their chances away and at half-time led 4-1 before adding three more in the second half.

Lewis was outstanding for YMSC, while Cleshaunay Darrell-Virgil was MVP for Dandy Stars.

There was another goal feast between PHC and HPWC as leaders PHC smashed home nine in a convincing win.

On the scoresheet for them were Teiyah Durham (2), Jessica Furtado (2), Symira Lowe-Darrell (2), Kalay Hollis, Micah Pond and Zahkia Durham.

Asrael Basden was on the mark for HPWC.

PHC had a dominant first half performance to thank for their victory, going in at the break 7-1 up.

Jessica Furtado was MVP for PHC and Asrael Basden was MVP for HPWC.

The next round of games take place at 5pm at the Warwick Academy Gym.

In a previous article, it was reported that PHC had won the league. While they are top, they have not yet wrapped up the title.
