Tall stories, the creators of The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom shows, present their latest collaboration with children’s laureate and illustrator Alex Scheffler.

The “exquisite piece of theatre that leaves you smiling” (The Stage) according is ideal for children aged four and older.

It tells the story of a tiny snail who longs to see the world so he hitches a lift on the tail of a great whale. They go on an adventure and along the way experience sharks and penguins and icebergs and volcanoes.

Tragically, the whale gets beached and the tiny snail has to find a way to save him. The production is an adaptation inspired by the work of Storybook Soldiers who help British military personnel overseas to record bedtime stories for their children back home.

The exciting journey is seen through the eyes of of an adventurous little girl who wishes she could be travelling around the world with her seafaring father.

The Snail and the Whale takes place at The Earl Cameron Theatre at City Hall this Saturday at 2:30pm or 4:30pm and on Sunday at 2:30pm. Tickets are available for $63 (adults) and $25 (students) via bdatix.bm
