Huddersfield Town boss Mark Robins praised the work-rate of Bermuda striker Nahki Wells despite the Terriers extending their winless run to 10 games.
Town drew 1-1 at home to play-off chasing Brighton on Good Friday after being seven minutes from claiming a desperately-needed three points.
Wells, who has six goals in 19 appearances since making a club record move (though to be around £1.3-million) from Bradford City, was at the heart of his team’s opener after he was fouled by Keith Andrews, with Oliver Norwood stepping up to hammer home the free-kick.
However, they were denied full points when Bruno Saltor capitalized on a mistake in the Huddersfield defence to snatch a draw.
Pacy 23-year-old Wells forced a save late on from the Seagulls keeper but it ended level.
Terriers manager Mark Robins told the club website: “It feels like a good point, but it is a cruel one at the same time. It was the longest 90 minutes that I have ever had to watch so I feel for the supporters, but I won’t be making any apologies this time because we needed to get something from the game.
“I think we would have been good value for a win, but we have switched off at the death and not defended correctly. They had a lot of the ball though, and have got some quality players.”
He added: “We were looking at the flanks to drive us forward and I felt that Nahki worked his socks off for us again. We had some good performances and they have all worked hard for the cause. We need to recovery correctly now and make sure our energy levels are up for Monday.”
Huddersfield Town travel to Yeovil on Monday, kick-off 11am Bermuda time.
