Memorial for Sir David Gibbons

A memorial service has been set to celebrate the life of the Honourable Sir David Gibbons, KBE, JP. The public is welcome to attend the ceremony on:

The Rt. Rev. Nicholas Dill, Bishop of Bermuda, will officiate the service. Tributes will be delivered by Sir David Gibbons’ sons, James and David, as well as former Premier of Bermuda, Sir John Swan, KBE, JP.

Sir David Gibbons committed his life’s work to Bermuda, serving as Premier from 1977 to 1982 as well as Finance Minister. He was also former Chairman of the Bank of N. T. Butterfield & Son Limited, Chairman of the Bermuda Monetary Authority and Director of Massachusetts Financial Services. Prior to his death, Sir David was Vice-President and Chief Executive Officer of Edmund Gibbons Limited and Chairman Emeritus of Colonial Group International Limited as well as CAPITAL G Bank Limited.

He died Sunday, 30 March after a brief illness.
