Even at the age of 84, Arnold Palmer can sprinkle stardust on the first tee at Augusta.

The four-time winner of the Masters Green Jacket teed off with fellow golf legends Jack Nicklaus (six Masters wins) and Gary Player (three Masters wins) to continue the tradition of having honorary starters at the event.

The Big Three then made way for the field to begin their first round.

The winner of the year’s first major will book his place at the Grand Slam of Golf in Bermuda from October 13-15 at Port Royal.

He will be joined by the winners of the other three majors in 2014 on the island. At time of going to press Bill Haas led the tournament at four under, although with three days to go, the famous Green Jacket remained very much up for grabs.
