Bermuda Under-17 Women pulled off a stunning 1-0 win over highly-rated Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Women's Under-17s World Cup qualifier in Haiti on Monday night.
Striker Aaliyah Nolan continued her incredible goalscoring summer with the winner after 50 minutes to leave Bermuda in pole position to finish top of Group B.
Manager Aaron Denkins’ team will face Grenada — who lost to Trinidad & Tobago 10-0 — in their final match on Wednesday having already qualified for Friday's semi-finals but knowing a point will be enough to go through as group winners.
The top two teams from Group A and B advance to Friday's semi-finals, with the two finalists making it to the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers in Jamaica from October 30.
Captain Kali Lespere said: "We now have to keep going and keep the pressure up. We can't give up. Yes we have already got through to the next round but that doesn't mean we're going to let up and take it easy."
Haiti and Puerto Rico have already cemented their place in the semi-finals from Group A and Lespere admitted the prospect of getting revenge on Puerto Rico was a huge motivator.
She added: "I'm not going to lie, I'd love to play both but because in the last round we played against Puerto Rico and were one up and lost 2-1, I would rather play them and beat them."
