The 18 year old Pembroke man seriously injured during a reported assault that occurred around 5:45pm Wednesday, October 23rd in The Glebe Road, St. Monica’s Road Pembroke area has since been flown overseas for further medical treatment.
The 34 year old Pembroke man arrested in connection with the incident was subsequently released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in The Glebe Road, St. Monica’s Road Pembroke area around 5:45pm Wednesday.

A teenager seriously injured during a violent confrontation between two groups of young males had gone to the area to join in a fight organized on social media, detectives have revealed.
The 18-year-old Pembroke man sustained head injuries when he was hit by a hammer during the disturbance that saw bottles and other objects thrown between the two sides.
Last night he was in a stable condition in Intensive Care, although it is understood he could be flown abroad for treatment.
The fight between the two groups broke out at around 5:45pm in the Glebe Road area of Pembroke.
Detectives have since arrested a 34-year-old Pembroke man in connection with the investigation.
Yesterday a police spokesman called for calm in the community.
He added: “Apparently the injured teenager attended the area with other young people to participate in anti-social behaviour organised through social media.
“As a result police are appealing to those involved not to retaliate or escalate their anti-social behaviour.
“Initial accounts indicate that the incident involved participants engaged in a heated verbal altercation which appears to have escalated into objects being thrown by parties in the area.
“Forensic evidence from the scene has been collected for examination, as well as CCTV footage from the area, to assist in progressing this investigation.”
Local MPs for the surrounding area condemned the violence.
Michael Weeks told the Sun: “Our children are living in fear, losing hope that there is a place for them in Bermuda and dying in our streets.
“I was in the area immediately after this latest incident and our people see no end to this.
“I’m saddened yet I am still hopeful that together we can find a solution. My prayers and thoughts are with the victim and his family.”
Walter Roban added: “I’m always shocked and saddened to hear any acts of violence, irrespective of where they are in the country.
“The St Monica’s Road and Glebe Road area has had a lot of these incidents over the years, particularly with young people involved.
“It’s really heart breaking because not only is it a tragedy for the family, but also the people of the area who are good people trying to raise their families in a peaceful environment. They’re subjected to these incidents.”

The victim, an 18-year-old Pembroke man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries. At last check the teenager was in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
