The Minister of Community, Culture and Sports, the Hon. R. Wayne Scott, JP, MP is currently attending The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Sport Summit which begins today in the Cayman Islands. Minister Scott’s trip is being hosted by FIFA.
The theme for this year’s conference is Transformation through Partnership. According to CONCACAF, “Our goals of change and transformation cannot be achieved without partnership with businesses that see opportunities for their brands, products and services within the football world. Guests at this week’s CONCACAF Sports Summit will all have their own experiences of working with sponsors and commercial partners.”
Minister Scott noted the importance of attending this Summit, “I am honoured to be a participant at the 2013 CONCACAF Sport Summit. It is an important meeting and an equally significant opportunity to network with Sport Ministers and gain insight on what other countries are doing to build partnership and sponsorship for sports bodies.”
Guest speakers include the Hon. K. H. Randolph Horton, JP, MP Speaker of the Bermuda’s House of Assembly. He will speak tomorrow on the subject, Football as an Influential Agent for Positive Change. The summit will be opened by Cayman Islands Premier the Hon. Alden McLaughlin. The Prime Minister of Jamaica, the Most Hon. Portia Simpson-Miller will address the group tomorrow, she will speak on the subject Sport and Country.
