Long, thick eyelashes are the newest trend in beauty and one Bermudian business has everything you need to make your lashes beautiful.

Lush Makeup and Brow Bar in the Washington Mall is the only salon in Bermuda to specialise in all aspects of eyelash extensions.

Owner Hanifah Smith brought in eyelash technician Reanne Hammell from the UK specifically to offer clients a one of a kind
experience.

“Lash extensions is a specialty service and a professional is required to deliver the quality service Lush strives to deliver.

“Any technician at Lush has certification in their specialty area.  Reanne and I are both certified full Beauty Therapists.

“In addition, Reanne has certification in semi
permanent eyelash extensions and several years experience.”

Explaining the lashes, Smith said: “Lash extensions are synthetic, human hair or mink fur fibers, shaped and curved to replicate a natural eyelash.

“The extensions are glued and attached your own natural eyelashes, for a natural, elegant and
luscious look.

“The extensions add length and volume for
special occasions as well as for every day wear.”

She continued: “Just like real lashes, they are resistant to water, heat, pool chlorine, perspiration and water based cleansers.

“Gently adhered to each individual, natural lash, lash extensions can last between four to eight weeks, light weight and beautifully curled.

“The look and feel is natural and real.”

Smith said adding the lashes will enhance the appearance of one’s eyes and added the  process is pain-free and relaxing.

“Save time with one less thing to do in the morning. You can look your best and feel confident in a world where eye contact is so
important.”

Lush carries a variety of curl textures, types, lash diameters, and lengths in lash extensions to best suit each client.

“Having over 100 lash types ensures you leave with a perfectly customized look that will suit your face, eye shape, style and personality”, Smith added.

Asked how to the response has been from clients, Smith said: “It’s been a great response.

“We had a wait list for Reanne before she arrived.

“Many clients had lashes done elsewhere and ended up disappointed and in some cases traumatized from the result.

“So to find somewhere (Lush) that actually specializes in extensions and technicians are certified, experienced and skilled is ideal.

“Women love extensions and end up addicted.  We have clients who refuse to take them off and will not live without them.

“They are extremely addictive.  Clients love the options and styles available for extensions.”

Smith said the amount of lashes in each set depends on how many lashes the client has, as there are adhered to the lash and not the skin.

Lush is able to do a half set of lashes or a full natural set of singles.

In addition to women wanting lashes to make themselves more beautiful, eyelash extensions are also available for cancer
patients who have lost their lashes.

“Cancer patients can begin with lash extensions once chemo has finished and the lashes have begun to grow in again.

“During this initial stage the lashes are much weaker and thinner than they originally were.

“Our special order lash extensions are so lightweight that they will not cause any stress to the recovering, growing natural lashes.

“For patients whose eyelashes are growing in sporadically, our lash tech can use special techniques to fill in gaps.”

Eyelash extensions starts at $25 for strips, $60 and up for temporary express lashes and $180 and up for single individual lashes.
