God will hold back your enemy’s plans to let you escape

God will hold back your enemy’s plans to let you escape
God will hold back your enemy’s plans to let you escape

These are perilous times, echoing the days of Noah more and more. Noah, the man of God who heard from God while most others heard nothing but their own voice. Noah was the odd man out, safe inside of the Ark because he had his ear attuned to God.

Noah was laughed at and highly scorned because he believed God.

Matthew 24: 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

This is pretty much the way it was with the disciples after Jesus arose from the dead and ascended into Heaven.

Persecuted

Those who were left behind to evangelize the earth were targeted and hunted down like animals by those who did not believe in Jesus. Oh, they knew Jesus existed, but they did not believe that Jesus was the only begotten Son of God.

So there was a sect of leadership in the government and the churches of the day that came against those who spoke concerning Jesus and the new law of love.

Acts 12: 1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.

2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

That is where we find Peter. Peter was trouble, according to many. Peter was spouting the principles of Jesus Christ, which conflicted with the rules and regulations of the established synagogues of that day.

There was such venom towards Christians, and as you read the text you discover that James was beheaded. That’s right, beheaded. James, an ardent follower of Jesus, was beheaded because he stood for holiness and spoke against what Jesus declared was unholy.

Saving Peter

Peter was to be the next victim. Now, what was it that saved Peter from immediate death, or immediate murder?  Did the murderers have a change of heart? Did a portion of the group of murderers rethink their strategy? Oh no!

The reason Peter was spared death on that day is because it was a holy day.

That’s right. Many Jews had travelled and gathered together in that area to celebrate the Feast of The Passover, and Herod decided to wait.

Isn’t that something?  A murder can be planned, but held back because of a “holy” day.

What they did not really understand was that God still had work for Peter to do, and so their efforts not to destroy Peter on a certain day met up with a timed day of God.

The Feast of The Passover represented a remembrance of the day the death angel passed over the people of Israel, on the eve before they were to leave Egyptian bondage.

What your enemy does not understand is that God has a Passover day scheduled just for you.

Way out

That’s right. No matter what type of prison you find yourself in, God will hold back the plans of the enemy and make a way of escape just for you.

You cannot leave this place called earth until God decides that it is your time.

Peter was in prison, but God had planned a prison break. Peter was about to escape to complete his ministry on earth, and that is what you must prepare to do. God will make a way of escape for you, and when you escape your prison you must be determined to complete your ministry work.

God has work for you to do. Do not settle with what others have planned for you.

God has more planned for you, and it is good. Respice finem.
