It’s the middle of October and the media is still talking about TwerkGate. Let me get you up to speed.
All the way back in August, Miley Cyrus twerked on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards in a flesh coloured latex bikini.
It was shocking, disgusting and got everyone talking about her so I guess to Miley, she has won.
Now, after the release of her album Bangerz, she is still fielding questions as is co-performer Robin Thicke.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey on her OWN network, Thicke said: “People ask me, ‘Do you twerk?’ I’m like, ‘Listen, I’m the twerkee. I’m twerked upon.
“I don’t twerk myself, okay? I’m just twerked upon.”
Thicke described the hype surrounding the performance as “funny” and “silly”.
The funny thing, many celeb sites are saying Thicke left Miley out there by herself to handle the critics a la Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake Super Bowl performance circa 2004.
But I don’t agree. Miley was on stage twerking and acting a fool before Robin even came out. And it’s not like he seemed to be enjoying himself.
Hopefully, this will die down soon because it is just ridiculous that they are both being asked these questions almost two months later.
Crazy. Sexy. Cool. The TLC Story premieres on VH1 on Monday night and is a highly anticipated film.
The biopic chronicles how R&B female group TLC rose to fame and all the negatives that came along with it including T-Boz being diagnosed with sickle cell anemia, Chilli becoming pregnant by their producer and Left Eye setting her boyfriend’s house on fire.
It stars Keke Palmer as Chilli, Lil Mama as Left Eye and Drew Sidora as T-Boz.
Chilli and T-Boz served as executive producers of the film and were on set daily. Left Eye died in 2002 in a car accident in Honduras.
The biopic shows the ugly side of fame that affected the group. The girls claimed they were essentially robbed by their management and left with only $15,000 each despite selling more than 10 million records.
I am so excited for this movie. As a TLC fan girl, I cannot wait to sing along with “Scrubs”, “Waterfalls” “Unpretty” and the many TLC songs that are sure to be featured in the movie.
TLC remains the best selling female group of all times.
