The 56 year old man wanted in connection with the assault on a female police officer was captured this evening without incident and a court appearance is expect in the near future.

Police officers were called to an incident at Anchorage View Road that took place around 10.30am (Tuesday morning).
It appears that a 56-year-old man become violent and pushed a female officers resulting in the officer falling back and hitting her head, the man then made good his escape in the surrounding area.
The female officer is being treated the hospital for a small laceration to the back of the head and she is expected to be released from the hospital today.
The search for the suspect continues.
A manhunt is underway for a St George’s man after he assaulted a female police officer.
Police were called to a Ferry Reach home after an alleged disturbance at around 10:30 this morning.
Inspector David Geraghty said: “At 10:30 this morning, officers were called to an incident on Anchorage View Road, St George’s.
“Upon arrival, officers spoke to a 56-year-old man in relation to the incident. When they spoke to the male, he became belligerent and violent.
“He assaulted one of the officers and made good his escape. The officer is currently being treated at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to injuries received to her head.
“We have a number of officers still there searching for the individual.”
We understand there are also marine officers looking for the man by boat.
