Corrado leads the way at Southside

Stephen Corrado finished the first race day of the National Championship top of the TAG and Shifter classes after an excellent performance at Southside Motorsports Park.

Corrado claimed a win and two runners-up spots in the TAG, and took that form into the Shifter races as well, recording the same three results.

In close pursuit in the TAG class is David Barbosa (a win, a second and a third) and youngster Corey Lewis (two thirds and a fourth), who has made an impressive step up to the more powerful karts.

In the Shifter category, Scott Barnes is Corrado’s closest competitor in these early stages of the Championship.

Barnes had a mixed day in the TAG (one win, a fifth and a sixth) and that inconsistency carried over to the shifters (a win, a third and a seventh) — however he is still very much in the mix.

In the Junior Clone class, Zavier Smith dominated with a hat-trick of wins.

Race day #2 of the 10-race  Championship Series will take place on October 20.
