Bermuda Karting Club begin their 10-race Championship on Sunday at Southside Moto Sports Park.
After last weekend’s Trophy Day, the flag now goes up on the main title battle. This round of racing will be held in conjunction with BMRC, meaning spectators get extra value.
Organiser Jason ‘Skuzzy’ North said: “It should be really exciting for the spectators and it’s always nice to race with a different brand. Plus you get more people from both sides down.”
Racing gets under way at 12pm and, on the karting side at least, the usual suspects will battle it out.
Former Karting Club president North himself is taking a backseat this season as Scott Barnes steps up to the position.
And Barnes will once again be one of the favourites behind the wheel.
North said: “Scott Barnes is always a favourite — he’s got the experience of racing abroad.
“But we also have 17-year-old Stephen Corrado whose been doing really well and has picked up from where he left off last season.
“Last race day Stephen dominated. Scott is in the Shifter class this time so it should be close. Corey Lewis has been brought up to the TAG class and it’s good to see the youngsters coming up through the ranks. He was a having a good race and finished around fifth out of eight and he’ll be better for a little more experience.”
