Nahki Wells’ return to goalscoring form continued apace with the opening goal in Bradford’s 3-2 win at MK Dons in League One today.

The Bermuda striker now has 13 this season in all competitions as City got their push for promotion back on track with a first win in eight games.

Brimming with confidence after his hat-trick against Coventry, former Dandy Town man Wells converted from close range after good work from Gary Thompson to put the Bantams 1-0 up.

Patrick Bamford then equalised for MK Dons before Kyle Reid got City back ahead. Wells almost bagged a second when his free-kick hit the post but the fans’ favourite then turned villain when his foul inside the box allowed Shaun Williams to equalise from the penalty spot.

City, though, didn’t fold and a late strike from Jason Kennedy clinched the three points.

Bradford manager Phil Parkinson said: “I'm obviously very pleased, we came up against a very good team.
"We started slowly and got the goal against the run of play, then we grew into the game.
"At 2-1 in the second half I thought we played really well and had several chances to go and get that third goal, but we didn't take them.
"It took a penalty for them to get back in the game but I thought the way we responded to get the win was outstanding.”

City and Wells are now in sixth place in League One and next take on Notts County at Valley Parade on Tuesday night.
