Northlands Primary School Hot Steppers is hoping to compete at the World Jump Rope Championships.
Thirteen members of the school’s ‘Hot Steppers’ travelled to the World Jump Rope workshop last July under the leadership of Mary-Beth Aitken.
The Hot Steppers is taking it up another level this year by competing at the World Jump-Rope Championships, which will be followed by a training camp in Orlando Florida.
Ms Aitken said in a a press release the team has been training hard for several years and is seeking sponsorship so that they can participate in this event.
“We hope that this event will not only encourage them to continue taking part in sport, but also build their confidence and character and expose them to other people and places that will surely broaden their horizons and enrich their lives.
The 10 students who have met the school’s qualifying standard to attend this competition and camp range in age from 8 to 10 years.
People who wish to donate to help make these young girls’ dreams come true can contact team manager Nahatasha Smith at [email protected] or call her on her cell at 504-2936.
