The Springboks romped home to a convincing 47-7 win over the US this evening to clinch a place in the Classic final.
The physicality of the South Africans proved just too much for a game US side that always struggled to cross the gain line.
Albert Van Den Berg picked up a hat-trick of tries to see the favourites across the line.
But the US never took a backwards step against their opposition.
In beating the Aussies they proved they were a force to be reckoned with, and they are just outgunned by a side who look good for the classic title.
Paul Emerick picked up a consolation for the Americans in the dying minutes but it was no more than they deserved for another heroic display.
They may be out of the competition but the Eagles will not be out of mind after their exploits this year.
A courageous defensive display by the Pumas sent the Lions home to lick their wounds this evening.
The home favourites were again found wanting by a side that tackled their heart out all night.
A final score of 7-3 was a fitting tribute to the level of commitment that both sides put on the line.
But it was the Pumas who broke the line and looked more dangerous on the attack.
Although the Lions took the lead just before half time with a James Brown penalty the Pumas came out from the break with more desire.
They quickly broke through the Lions line before winger Ramos touched down in the corner.
A sublime conversion from Todeschini sent the Argentinians partying into the early hours as well as this year's final.
