As the death toll rises in the typhoon-ravaged Philippines, islanders are rallying in support and donating thousands of dollars to relief efforts.
Super Typhoon Haiyan was one of the most powerful killer storms in history and as the devastation becomes clearer in its wake, the need for urgent help becomes increasingly apparent.
Up to 2,000 people are dead, 23,000 homes have been destroyed and hundreds of thousands of people are displaced. There are 3,000 Filipinos in Bermuda and the community is aghast as this horrific event unfolds in their homeland.
Today we speak to a former Bermuda resident who is now surrounded by devastation, and explain how you can help relief agencies to provide basic
shelter, food and water.
