Celeb watch: Scandal star has baby on the way

Kerry Washington is pregnant and I am so excited about it. I have been a massive fan of hers since Save the Last Dance came out when I was in high school.

Kerry and husband Nnamdi Asomugha announced in US Weekly that they are expecting  a baby. Washington is reportedly four months along in the pregnancy.

According to US Weekly, this will be the first child for the Emmy-nominated beauty, who married San Francisco 49ers cornerback Asomugha on June 24 in Hailey, Idaho.

According to reports, the couple first started dating in the summer of 2012; Washington was previously engaged to actor David Moscow.

Washington, who doesn’t dress overtly sexy, usually wears fitted clothing.

Recently, the Scandal star has been wearing lose fitted clothing. At the Emmy’s she wore a dress that screamed ‘pregnant!’

The interesting thing to me about this announcement is that people are saying she must have got married because she was pregnant. Yes, the marriage did come out of left field considering no one knew she even had a boyfriend let alone a fiancé.

But surely, Washington is entitled to her privacy. Who cares if she married Asomugha because they found out she was pregnant? She’s Olivia Pope! She can do whatever she wants!

Nigella Lawson and her husband Charles Saatchi divorced earlier this summer after photos were published of Saatchi apparently trying to choke her at Scott’s Restaurant in London.

After the photos appeared, Lawson quietly divorced Saatchi and to this day she has not said a word about what happened.

According to the Daily Mail, Saatchi is threatening to sue Lawson for $800,000 because he isn’t happy that he has been perceived as a villain in the public eye. Letters sent to Lawson’s lawyers allegedly will depict their argument at Scott’s in a “different light”.

Police caution

Team Saatchi says Lawson’s silence “speaks volumes”. Saatchi’s team also claims that by Saatchi accepting a police caution for choking his ex-wife, he protected her from a police probe which would have exposed the truth.

Now, Vanity Fair is putting together an expose about what really happened, except Lawson refuses to play ball and has told her family and friends not to speak to the magazine.

This could get really ugly, really fast.
