Bermuda Day brings out the best in us
Once again we came together as a country on Bermuda Day to celebrate our uniqueness and commonality.
Bermudians of every age, gender and skin tone.
Some at the parade, some at the races, some on the water, some visiting friends and family.
I really don’t know why we have to take one day to do what we should be doing all year around.
We don’t need a holiday to be proud of who we are, or to see we are a diverse country.
But hey, a three-day weekend doesn’t hurt to remind us.
When I was out and about on Friday, Many persons stopped me along the way to encourage me to continue writing our stories and the messages we all need to know about.
I will never forget that I speak for their cares and concerns.
Where else in the world can someone come to town without a dollar in their pocket, and every five feet you walk, someone is offering you all forms of food and drinks? Nowhere but Bermuda.
To each and every one of you, I give my love and respect.
And thanks for supporting the Bermuda Sun. I promise you I will be writing for you until the Augustus family folds my hands.
God bless you my fellow 441ers. So when is the next holiday?
