The 100-Day Challenge proved to be a life-changing event for Marico Thomas.
The Four Star pizza chain owner served as a judge in the competition and decided he needed to offer a healthier alternative to the Bermuda public.
He said serving as a judge on the show, he has seen how people’s choices can have an impact on their personal well-being
“Part of what we wanted to do is display on our own menu, depending on how you want to live, we have different options for you.”
Four Star’s Blue Fit pizzas are 10 inches and all have 850 or fewer calories.
Mr Thomas said: “It still has the same great taste.”
The Four Star owner said his company worked with a dietician to come up with the four Blue Fit pizzas.
“We are aware that people don’t always have the time to go home and cook food for themselves.” He said some of the trainers for the 100-Day Challenge suggested items off the Four Star menu that the contestants could have as part of their training regime.
“I thought it was irresponsible for me being a judge in it to also not share it with Bermuda in large.”
Mr Thomas said the Blue Fit menu will also extend to its other restaurants to offer Chinese and Indian food.
