Have your say: Is Moyes the right man to replace Fergie?
After the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson shook up the English Premier League — and world football — we asked whether David Moyes was the right man to take over one of the greatest managers the game has ever seen?

'David Moyes will be a good replacement. When you have a coach that shows consistency at that level and has a great understanding of players and the game it can only go great if you put him inside a much more established and successful club.
Yes, one may question the lack of trophies but when you do not have the budget like the bigger clubs it’s tough to complete those tasks. I am not concerned about him keeping the success of United going but more about getting players to buy into his vision. That is one of the abilities that made Sir Alex great.'

Quinton Jones is a well-known ardent United fan on the island. His dog is called Fergie.
'To tell you the truth I was looking at the guy at Bayern Munich — Jupp Heynckes. He’s leaving at the end of the season.
'I was getting calls Wednesday from 6:30am from people asking me who should be the new manager. David Moyes has been at Everton a long time but I’m not sure his reputation will get the support from the players. He is too calm, I’m not sure he has the strength not to be influenced by players. Fergie turned boys into men.
'The team will change but Ferguson will still be there to offer support and I wish David all the best.'
The media...
James Burton is a journalist for the Bermuda Sun.
'Manchester United pride themselves on being an institution and the manager needs to oversee the whole club. In that sense, David Moyes, a tough cookie, is a good fit. I don’t buy into the fact Jose Mourinho, the other leading candidate, was not considered because he brings too much aggro. After all, Fergie’s hardly shied away from that.
'I think Mourinho is a short-term boss, Moyes, on the other hand, has built a club at Everton on limited resources. Now, of course, he will be tested like few have before. Following Fergie is a thankless task but he deserves his shot.'
