A 40-year-old man has appeared in court today accused of trying to get a woman to become a prostitute.

MacDonald DeSilva firstly denied sending a “grossly offensive” message with his cell phone between December 2012 and February 2013.

The charge didn’t say who the message was sent to.

He also denied attempting to procure a woman to become a common prostitute between January 28 and February 4 in St George’s.

The matter was adjourned for trial on August 15.

The defendant was given $2,000 bail with one surety.
