Did you know it’s possible to book all of the Elbow Beach Resort?
That’s right, one of Bermuda’s premier hotels is available to be booked in its entirety.
The resort announced recently it was now possible to book all 98 rooms through its Resort Buyout Package.
And, since sending out the info to its high-end clients, it has already had more than a half dozen enquiries.
Sophie Dier, director of communications for Elbow Beach, told the Bermuda Sun the resort launched the package on April 19.
Exclusive
“We’ve had quite a bit of response. On a package of this magnitude you’re not going to see a huge influx of response, but when we sent out the release we also did an e-mail to an exclusive database of elite travellers. From that we had three or four enquiries almost immediately and since then we’ve had two or three others.”
Ms Dier said Elbow Beach would only book out the whole resort if the occupancy rate was under a certain per cent, then they would make it available.
“Usually with something of this magnitude, people are going to be booking it quite far in advance so all our enquiries we’ve been receiving so far have been for 2014 and onwards.”
She said for those people who had already booked they would look to see if they could be moved or rebooked.
“It’s always subject to availability and when it’s above a certain occupancy, we would never want to move that many people.
“At the same time, if it were off-season and we had low occupancy and someone was interested in booking out the resort for a group, special event or incentive programme… we would love to see someone book out the whole resort for me and my girlfriend for the weekend. That would be fabulous.”
The package includes all 98 guest rooms and suites; including all garden and ocean view rooms, beach front lanais and free-standing signature cottages, each of which has been recently refreshed. With 24-hour In-Room Dining and any choice of guest room, guests can experience private dining on a different terrace every night of their stay if they wish. Executive chef Serge Bottelli will be available to create exclusive tasting menus with wine pairings.
All the property’s amenities will be at guests’ exclusive disposal, including a half-mile stretch of private pink sand beach with beach attendants and lounge chair food and beverage service. A temperature-controlled swimming pool with poolside spa cabanas and a luxury holistic spa with a variety of signature Mandarin Oriental and Bermudian treatments are available for the guests exclusive enjoyment and they will never have to worry about getting an appointment.
The dream
Ms Dier said: “It’s the dream isn’t it? We’ve all probably had that dream about having our own private island resort or own yacht, or whatever your dream is.
“To have all the staff there for you and make sure you have everything you need during your stay would be pretty amazing.”
She added with Elbow Beach in the middle of the island makes it convenient for guests to have access to all the cultural amenities Bermuda has to offer.
“It’s a great hub for people.”
Ms Dier said NBC booked out all of Elbow Beach for the 2004 Summer Olympics, so it has been done before.
She said the idea came about in a marketing meeting.
“We said ‘How cool would it be to buy out the whole resort?’ And now that we just have the 98 rooms, it is that much more feasible. When we had 235 rooms or the Fairmont Southampton with 600 rooms, to get somebody to buy out the whole property, it isn’t that feasible.
“The intimate set-up with 98 rooms just makes sense.”
