Man arrested after firearm seized

A 33-year-old man was arrested yesterday with a firearm, marking the first seizure of the year.

A police spokesman said: “On Wednesday, March 27, a 33-year-old Hamilton Parish man was arrested in connection with the seizure of a firearm and a quantity of ammunition.

“The suspect remains in police custody while inquiries into this matter continue.

“This is the first firearm seized for 2013.”
