Village avenges loss to Somerset
Shuntae Todd helped North Village Rams avenge an early season loss to Somerset Trojans in the Women’s Futsal League on Saturday.
Todd slammed home four goals as Village came back to win 7 to 6 against Somerset in the opening night’s action at Dellwood Middle School Gym.
Somerset was determined to take this game as they roared out to a 5 to 1 advantage before the Rams clawed their way back. Deshae Darrell and Sierra Fisher both had two goals for Somerset with team-mates Dazhja Greaves and Jasmine Simmons both scoring one apiece.
LeiLanni Nesbeth, Whitnae Duerr 1 and Leanne Yates 1 all scored one for the Village victory.
PHC Zebras had little trouble getting past Social Club Bluebirds in an 8 to 1 triumph. PHC were up by three at the half and did not take their feet off the pedal in the second. Taznae Fubler had a hat-trick for PHC with Micah Pond and Chyna Young both netting twice. Keunna Dill completed the scoring for PHC.
Rachel Smith had the lone goal for Social Club.
It was vets versus youth as Dandy Stars gold took on their younger stablemates Dandy Stars Brown. It was an entertaining match with the younger players getting the better of their seniors for stretches of the match and led 4 to 2 at the interval.
Dandy Stars came back fierce in the second half to draw the match at 4. Zahra Gibbons was outstanding for Dandy Stars Brown scoring three goals while team-mate Leah Smith netted once. Dandy Stars Gold got balanced scoring from Precious Cooper, Cleshaunay Darrell-Virgil, Kashintae Fox and Alexis Trott, each scoring 1 goal.
The Hamilton Parish Hot peppers had a bye.
There are no games next week due to the Easter weekend.. Games resume on Saturday April 6 at 5 pm at the Dellwood Middle School Gym.
