Hamilton Parish Hot Peppers won two of the six titles contested at the Kappa Classic including the nail-biting Boys Under-14 Final.

The Kappa Classic was played over Friday and Saturday at the National sports Centre and involved over 900 youth football players.

The Boys Under-14 was a lively affair as Hamilton Parish and North Village played to a 1-1 tie through regular time. Marquille Walker scored for Parish while Jai-Zel Smith Deshields ensured the match went to penalty kicks for Village.

Hamilton Parish prevailed 5 to 4 as Zion Tucker Smith, Zhiyah Wolffe-Simpson, Walker, Zakari Seymour and Darius Tucker all scored for the Hot Peppers while Village’s Quinn Outerbridge, Matteo Turner, Samuel McKittrick and Davin Dill found the net.

Diego Richardson’s one goal was enough for BAA Green to lay claim to the Boys Under-12 title against Dandy Town in a great defensive battle.

Unfortunately for Town, they were also blanked in the Under-10 final as Valencia Whites won 1-0 behind Ne-Jai Tucker’s goal.

Hamilton Parish also won the Boys Under-8 crown over North Village Reds 2 to 1. Denham Minors and Sincere Robinson scored for Parish while Remy Coddington made sure North Village Reds got on the scoreboard.

In the Girls Under-12 final, Dandy Stars won an exciting 3-2 affair over Somerset Black. Sapphyre Hunt had a brace while Teyah Lindo added a single tally for the victors while Makayla Robinson had both of Somerset’s goals.

Somerset Black downed Valencia 3 to 1 in the Girls Under-10 division. Gaiya Tull, Riley Simmons and Trinae Edwards all scored for Somerset while Koa Goodchild was the lone goal scorer for Valencia.

Kappa organizer Craig Tyrell thanked everyone who helped make the event a success. “Tokio Millenium, Catlin, Ace, Renaissance Re, Bank of Bermuda Foundation, Butterfield and Vallis, Atlantic Medical, XL and TBI we say a heartfelt thank you for your financial support, without you we would not be able to produce this event.

“Also the to the army of volunteer referees we could not do this without you either. There are not enough words to say how AWESOME you are.  We are grateful for your service.

“To all of the volunteers your participation is also critical to the success of the event and to all of the other event partners, and service in kind sponsors, thank you.”
