North Village stun PHC in futsal showdown
The game of the night was between the Women’s Futsal League’s top two teams and it lived up to its promise at Dellwood on Saturday.
PHC led for most of the contest and went into the locker room up 4 to 3. North Village battled back and pulled out a stunning victory 7 to 6.
Young LeiLanni Nesbeth and Kyla Ramatar led Village with two goals apiece. Whitnae Duerr, Leanne yates and Tamisha Darrel each had one goal in the NV triumph.
Micah Pond had a brilliant hat-trick in the losing cause for PHC. Keunna Dill (2) and Aaliyah Nolan (1) completed the scoring for PHC.
Dandy Stars Brown doubled up Social Club Bluebirds 8 to 4.
Both teams started strongly with the game knotted at two before Brown rallied to a 7 to 2 half-time advantage. Social Club did net two goals in the second half but could not overcome the lead Dandy Stars had built up.
Zara Gibbons (3) led all scorers with three goals while her Dandy Stars team-mates Jahziyah Samuels and Jada Samuels both bagged a brace. Cally Blankendal completed the scoring for Stars.
Zekiah Lewis led Social Club with two goals while team-mates KyAnne Scott-Fishenden and Debora Menezes also scored.
Somerset Trojans shut-out the Hamilton Parish Hot Peppers 4 to 0.
Somerset scored two goals on each side of the half in a comfortable win.
Sierra Fisher, Dazhja Greaves, Ember Butterfield, and Kyra Butterfield all found the net for Somerset.
