Two arrested on suspicion of impaired driving
Around 4am on Sunday, March 17th police officers on mobile patrol along South Road in Paget encountered a car being driven erratically through the area. The vehicle was caused to stop near the Botanical Gardens and the driver, a 22 year old Devonshire man, appeared to be intoxicated. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
Around 2:25am on Sunday, March 17th police officers on mobile patrol along Crow Lane in Pembroke encountered a motorcycle being ridden erratically through the area. The motorcyclist, a 30 year old Pembroke man, was caused to stop at the junction of Trimingham Road and South Road in Paget. He appeared to be intoxicated, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend, police officers arrested eight people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues. Officers also arrested 32 people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
