The Hon. Shawn Crockwell J.P., M.P., Minister of Tourism Development and Transport today provided an update on the 2013 Spring Break activities and said there were 200 students currently on the island enjoying a range of activities and events.
Now in the third week of four weeks of planned Spring Break activities, there are groups of students currently on the island from Yale, Duke University and Cornell as well as other US and Canadian schools. During the first week Bermuda hosted approximately 80 students on-island, of which half were non-residents. For week two there were 100 visiting students who enjoyed an Island Party Bus Tour, Spring Break Cruise and Tom Moore’s Jungle/Cave Tour as well as enjoying nightlife activities held at Cosmopolitan, Docksiders and Café Cairo. Now in week three there are approximately 200 students on Island.
Minister Crockwell said: “Last year we hosted approximately 250 students for Spring Break and we are certainly on track to exceed that number this year. From all accounts the students have had a great time and we will look to build on this momentum next year and hope that some students who visited this year come back again and bring their friends.”
Footage of all the Spring Break fun will be made available via a YouTube video that will be released in early April.
