February 8: Sport shorts
PHC racked up the goals in their demolition job of YMSC, cruising to a 10-0 victory in the Women’s Futsal League.
PHC completely dominated, although YMSC can take some heart from the fact their young players at times frustrated their opponents.
Aaliyah Nolan, one of last season’s top scorers, was outstanding for PHC as she hammered five goals.
Other scorers for PHC were Micah Pond (2), Sideya Dill, Chyna Young and Raeesha Shakir.
In the other game, SCC came out on top of a 10-goal thriller, edging NVCC 6-4.
One of the most exciting games of the season so far saw NVCC establish an lead, only to see SCC storm back to even the score at two each at the break.
In the end, though, it was SCC who had the legs on their rivals and ran out winners.
Eva Frazzoni, Dazha Greaves and Lissa Fisher were the standout performers for SCC. Their goals were scored by Frazzoni (3), Greaves (2) and Sierra Fisher. On the scoresheet for NVCC were Whitnae Duerr (2), Leilanni Nisbett and Kyla Ramatar.
