Catlin appoints Mier

Catlin Group Limited announced that Jo Mier, the Group’s chief of staff, has been appointed to the Catlin Group Executive Committee (GEC), effective immediately.

As chief of staff, Jo Mier will continue to be responsible for strategic planning, research and development activities, and the agenda of the GEC.

Stephen Catlin, chief executive of Catlin Group Limited, said in a press release: “I am delighted to announce that Jo Mier has been appointed to Catlin’s Group Executive Committee. Jo has more than 25 years of experience in the industry across a broad range of disciplines, and her appointment to the GEC recognises her accomplishments at Catlin as well as her important role in the executive management of the Group.”

Wind River

AM Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating (FSR) of A (Excellent) and issuer credit ratings (ICR) of “a” of Wind River Reinsurance Company, Ltd. (Wind River Re) (Hamilton, Bermuda) and its U.S. subsidiaries. Concurrently, AM Best has affirmed the ICR of “bbb” of the ultimate parent holding company of Wind River Re, Global Indemnity plc (Global Indemnity) (Dublin, Ireland).

Lancashire

Lancashire Holdings Limited will be announcing its 2013 second quarter results at 7am UK time on Thursday, 25 July, 2013 and hosting an analyst and investor conference call at 1pm UK time on Thursday, 25 July, 2013. 

The conference call will be hosted by Lancashire management.

PartnerRe

PartnerRe Ltd. announced that Debra J Perry and Greg FH Seow have been appointed to its board of directors effective June 15, 2013.

Ms Perry has been a Principal of Perry Consulting, LLC, since 2008. 

Mr. Seow is currently serving on the boards of Wheelock Properties (Singapore) Ltd, AIA Singapore and Singapore’s Land Transport Authority. Committees.

Ms. Perry and Mr. Seow replace John Rollwagen and Vito Baumgartner who retired from PartnerRe’s Board of Directors on May 17, 2013.

Pillar Capital CEO

Pillar Capital Holdings Limited, a Bermuda-based insurance asset manager, announced that Stephen A. Velotti has been appointed CEO effective immediately.

Mr. Velotti, 46, brings nearly 25 years of insurance and reinsurance experience to the CEO role, including strong expertise in property underwriting. 

Mr. Velotti joined Pillar as Portfolio Manager on its formation in 2008. 

He was promoted to chief underwriting officer in June 2009 and chief investment officer in March 2011.

“I am delighted to lead Pillar as we move to our next stage of growth,” said Mr. Velotti.
