Reggie Lambe admitted he must up his game at Toronto FC.

The Bermuda winger, 23, has struggled to make an impact at the MLS club this season and knows he has to contribute more in the final third if he is to retain his place in new manager Ryan Nelsen’s struggling side.

“I think I can contribute more to the team,” he told the Bermuda Sun. “I’ve been playing a bit defensively for the team and I want to break those shackles and push on and play more attacking.”

Former Ipswich Town man Lambe has been handed plenty of MLS starts but has yet to register a goal, with the team managing just one victory and five draws to date.

He admits the team must sharpen up — and stop leaking late goals.

“It’s been a shaky season. We’ve been playing good football again but we just seem to concede late goals in the 90th minute – most games we’ve conceded games in the 90th minute.

“We just need to rock on and stop conceding those late goals. We play great up until then but it’s just keeping the ball and making sure the other team doesn’t get a sniff of goal.”

Lambe is currently back in Bermuda having played for the national team in the 6-1 defeat to England C on Tuesday night at the National Sports Centre. It was a chastening loss but the former Dandy Town player says he still gets that special feeling when he represents his country.

He added: “I always get the buzz playing for Bermuda and playing in front of the home fans. Whether it’s away or playing for my country, I take pride in that and I always try to play my best.”
