Aaliyah Nolan’s hat-trick wrecked any chances Curacao might have had in beating Bermuda in an Under-20 football match.
The two squads were playing in a Caribbean Football Union qualifier in Kingston, Jamaica.
The two squads had previously lost handily to Jamaica and Cuba.
Bermuda had been held scoreless in the tournament for 231 minutes before Nolan worked her magic. In a span of 13 minutes she not only scored Bermuda’s first goal of the qualifiers, she bagged her second and third goals to give the female Gombey Warriors some measure of pride.
Nolan scored in the 51st, 58th and 64th minutes. Bermuda won the match 3-0.
With just one victory, Bermuda did not advance to the finals in October in Puerto Rico.
